Hatrick for Newsham...

Dave Newsham jumped back into the lead of the championship after three faultless drives and the first hat trick of the 2006 season on Saturday. On paper it may look like one horse race but nothing could be further from the truth as places were hard fought all day culminating with the final where Newsham had Jamie Clarke, Derek Pierce, Chris Grieve and Lawrence Davey all snapping at his heels in a battle that paralleled that going on at the head of the championship table.

Driver of the day was Peter Morton.
