Grieve at the Double...

Excellent racing once again with the drivers having to master a new circuit for the first time this year. Croix, on the whole, leant itself to the former kart drivers - Chris Grieve and Dave Newsham both taking first and second overall on both days.

Aside from some superb driving from Chris and Dave the meeting had a number of highlights which included Malcolm Clark's first National Championship win in Saturday's final. If Malcolm had looked in his mirrors during the first half of the race he'd have seen 'Driver of the Day' Glenn Burtenshaw fighting hard to hang onto second place.

Sunday's racing saw Dave Newsham heading to victory in heat one but he became stuck in third gear and dropped back to fourth. Steve Thompson came through to win although any thoughts of 'lucky' were dispelled as he'd driven through from the very back of the field. Thompson was enjoying a real return to form and finished third in the day's points despite starting at the back of the pack. Robin Webb bagged a career best 8th in one of his heats and was also pleased to set fifth fastest lap in one of the races too.

'Driver of the Day' for Sunday went to Ian Sturt who bowed out of Legends Cars racing with a clean sheet of finishes followed up by some entertaining farewell donuts on the circuit.
