2006 Round 11 - Oulton Park

Clarke tops at Oulton...

Jamie Clarke took an impressive overall victory in Saturday's races at Oulton Park and with it moved into second place in the championship table ahead of Dave Newsham. The meeting started with a win for championship leader Chris Grieve with Clarke in second place and Peter Morton in third.

Dave Newsham's retirement from the second race saw Chris build a bigger championship lead but the Hexham youngster was unable to do anything about Derek Pierce's race lead - Derek taking his first race win of the season. Glenn Burtenshaw took an inspired career best third place.

Jamie was bang on the pace again in the third race and took the win, this time from Lawrence Davey and John Higgins. Unfortunately there was some damage when Malcolm Clark and Dave Moore tangled at Lakeside. Malcolm was taken to hospital as a precaution and thankfully given the all-clear.

The fourth race saw the biggest ever UK Legends Cars grid with 31 cars taking to the circuit. There was simply no stopping Dave Newsham in this one as he blasted off into the distance giving everyone full notice that the last three rounds of the championship are going to proved some stunning action. Jamie was second again with Derek third and Lee Fitzpatrick impressing in fourth.

Driver of the day went to Robin Webb for a stunning drive into the top ten of the third race..
