Corgi to Sponsor the 2003 Legends Cars Championship
Corgi and Legends Cars - The die is cast
Legends Cars have signed a three year agreement with Motor Racing
UK to oversee commercial and sponsorship activities. The venture
has already led to the introduction of leading die cast model brand,
Corgi, to become
the championship's title sponsor.
The 5/8ths scale 1,250cc Yamaha powered 'pocket rockets' are now
entering their eighth season in the UK with an entry list resembling
a chapter from a UK Motorsport's Who's Who.
"We are delighted and very excited with this agreement," said
Legends boss Phil Cooper. " Legends Cars has always strived to be
more than just a race series - it's entertainment too. Now, with
Motor Racing UK and Corgi, we have a platform to explore some very
exciting opportunities that drivers and race fans alike will want
to be a part of."
Motor Racing UK's Managing Director, Keith Littler, added, "Legends
is a series with an established fan base and enormous potential.
It was clear to me from the moment I got involved that Corgi were
a natural partner for the series and I am thrilled that the deal
has come off.....and believe me, this is only the beginning!".
The Corgi Legends Cars 2003 Championship will be contested over
14 rounds, six of which will be raced on British Touring Car Championship
race weekends.
