Clarke's day, Poyser & Moore take titles

Jamie Clarke took the overall win at Croft with three second places. Oli Poyser did enough in the second heat to win the overall championship from Peter Morton with Dave Moore securing this year's rookie title from Ali Topley. Jamie also secured third in the overall championship ahead of Stephen and Mark Treherne. A strong entry for the last round saw the welcome return of Owen Jenkins in the car usually pedalled by Gary Coake plus Scottish Championship front runner Dave Newsham.

Heat 1

Lawrence Davey led for five of the six laps but Peter Morton was determined to take the championship to the wire and he kept the competition alive by taking the win on the last lap. Jamie Clarke came through for second on the last bend from Davey.

Heat 2

Derek Pierce took a start to finish win - this making a neat end to the season for him as he won the opening race of the year too, back at Oulton Park on Easter Monday. Jamie Clarke was second once again.

Final

Dave Newsham stormed through from the back of the grid to lead from lap three and pulled away from the rest of the field. Stephen Treherne netted 200 points as the first National Championship registered driver across the line from Jamie Clarke. Newsham then celebrated with a set of donuts on the back straight which entertained the spectators but upset the race officials.
